IMI approves research priorities

On March 3rd in Brussels the Innovative Medicines Iniative (IMI) board approved the research priorities.  This included approving the strategic research agenda.  The agenda has been refined and is shorter than previous versions, however the major aspects of the agenda remain the same.

A new timeline was established for the call and evaluation process.  The call is due to be published in April with the deadline for the expression of interest being in July.  The full proposal will be due in November with the IMI projects that are successful beginning work in March of 2009.

"Future public-private partnerships will look at the IMI as a model. Today we started a new way of funding research
The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) which fosters collaboration between all stakeholders." Jonathan Knowles - Chair of Governing board
