IMI 2008 call launched

The IMI 2008 call was launched on April 30th in Brussels.  The call focuses on the efficacy, and education and training pillars of the IMI strategic research agenda.  The deadline for the expression of interest is July 15th.

The call process is a two stage process with first an expression of interest which is comprised of several sections: abstract, scientific case, partner descriptions, overall composition of consortium, work plan, and budget.  One consortium for each call will be selected to go forward from the expression of interest.  The evaluation will be carried out by a chosen panels of european commission scientfic experts with ad hoc members as needed and a coordinator and deputy from the EFPIA partners that are signed up for a particular call.  Once a consortium has been selected they work together with the EFPIA partners to submit a full proposal which is due in October.

It is important to meet all the deliverables listed in the call, and in fact if no consortium submits a proposal that meets all the deliverables laid out in the call the IMI may decide not to fund the call in 2008.  It is thus very important that the call is followed precisely.
